Introducing one of the newest spiders from Treasures by Tiziana®, our Glow in the Dark Dragon / Snake Eye Spiders. We have always been fascinated with glow in the dark beads, and we think that they are super unique and amazing, but very hard to capture the fun and beauty of the spider with the camera. Please take a look at a couple of examples from our collection. The body is made from a glow in the dark glass “Reptile Eye” Bead and a matching glow in the dark glass bead for the head. From Mark 12:41-44: Jesus sat near the Temple collection box and watched as people put money into it. Many rich people put in a lot of money. Then a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins (mites), worth less than a penny. Jesus called his followers to him and said, “This poor widow put in only two mites. But the truth is, she gave more than all those rich people. They have plenty, and they gave only what they did not need. This woman is very poor, but she gave all she had. It was money she needed to live on.”
Archeologists have concluded that the “mites” mentioned in the above account of the Widow are in fact the common bronze Half-Prutah (Half-Penny) plentifully minted by the rulers of the Jewish Maccabee dynasty (till 37 BC), and which remained in circulation well into the 1st century AD. Thus, this coin was the smallest denomination in circulation during the time of Jesus. The coin features an anchor inscription on the obverse (Front) and a star on the reverse (Back). We used 2 replicas of the widow’s mite, to represent the two coins that the widow gave to the temple in the parable for the Spider’s Body Bead. When we saw the coins, we imagined that they had been in the ground together for so long that they became fused together, and the spider grew out of the coins.
People may ask why a spider has anything to do with biblical stories/times, and we say that there are many who believe that spiders are a symbol of good luck and prosperity, not only is there the legend of the Christmas spider, but stories have been told that spiders saved the baby Jesus shortly after his birth, as he was fleeing Bethlehem. One night Mary, Joseph, and Jesus stopped in a cave to sleep, King Herod’s men were in pursuit. Knowing this, after Jesus entered the cave, spiders jumped into action and quickly spun a web, covering the entire entrance to the cave. When a soldier tried to enter the cave and search it, the leader yelled at him to not waste his time, can’t you see the spider web, no one has gone onto that cave for days, let’s keep looking, thus saving Jesus.
This beautiful spider is another original Classic creation of mine, hand made from 2 metal replica “mites” that we have connected together to form a great body bead of the “widow’s 2 mites”. This “bead” is hand made using a proprietary process used only by Treasures by Tiziana.

Just a shot of a side of Tiziana’s design studio. She has been working for many years and has accumlated thousands of beads. She is truly #beadobsessed. Her studio is almost always filled with light, love, and happiness. That is why her original creations have such fire and flare, as they always have the love and positive energy that Tiziana puts into her creations.
Tiziana was asked to make a Harry Potter Inspired spider, so she came up this one, but the problem is that after she was done, she almost did not want to sell it as she liked it so much. What do you think?

A great find looking back, a cute little beaded spider Dreamcatcher that Tiziana made a few years ago. The ring is made for sewed together seed beads to make the effect of the spider floating on the ring of bubbles.

Made from glass Lampwork beads and hand sculpted pumpkin bead, her legs were adorned with Swarovski crystal beads and Czech Glass Beads. A truly beautiful original piece of art.
A quick shot of One of Tiziana’s hand made Black Widow spiders that we have hanging over the door to out kitchen. She is protecting us, standing guard under the sign “Vive Bene, Spesso L’amore, Di Risata Molto” which is Italian (As you know Tiziana was born in beautiful Sicily) means “Good Life, Lots of Love, Laugh a Lot”.
The Spider certainly helps us do those things, and brings a smile to our faces when we look up and see her.
Another original Classic creation of mine made from years ago. The spider is hand made from beautiful Lamp work beads and gorgeous genuine Swarovski Crystal Pearl for her head. Her legs are adorned with gorgeous Czech glass seed beads, Beautiful Czech crystal glass beads. The Hook came with millefiori bead, simply beautiful.
